Terms of Service
The Signal Ledger is an impersonal educational market publication. The beta is free and will not convert automatically. When paid checkout opens, the subscription will renew at the price and interval shown at checkout until canceled. Paid content is for the subscriber's personal use and may not be redistributed.
1. Who operates The Signal Ledger
These Terms are an agreement between you and Pierce Ventures, LLC, a Maryland limited liability company doing business as The Signal Ledger (collectively, “The Signal Ledger,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). They apply to the website, email publication, beta program, paid subscriptions, samples, and related services we provide (the “Service”).
By using the Service, joining the beta, or purchasing a subscription, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, Subscription, Cancellation & Refund Policy, and Financial Disclaimer.
2. Eligibility
The Service is intended for people who are at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding agreement. You may not use the Service where doing so would violate applicable law.
3. Free beta
Beta access is currently free. Features, format, schedule, and availability may change during beta. Joining the beta does not authorize a future charge, and no beta participant will be converted automatically into a paid subscriber. A beta reader must separately and affirmatively complete paid checkout before any subscription charge begins.
4. Paid subscriptions and automatic renewal
When paid checkout opens, the checkout page will clearly display the subscription price, billing interval, renewal terms, cancellation method, and any applicable tax before you authorize payment. The final launch subscription price is $1 per month, billed monthly, and renews automatically until canceled.
You authorize the payment provider to charge the payment method on file at the start of each billing period. We will provide an electronic confirmation containing the material subscription and cancellation terms. If we later offer another billing interval, its exact price and renewal period will be disclosed at checkout.
We may change a future subscription price only after providing advance notice. A price change will apply no earlier than the first renewal after the notice period, and you may cancel before it takes effect.
5. Cancellation, access, and refunds
You may cancel through the Stripe-hosted customer portal or by emailing signalledgerreport@gmail.com. Cancellation will not be made unreasonably difficult. A cancellation request received before renewal will prevent the next recurring charge even if our internal processing finishes later.
Unless we state otherwise at checkout, cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period and access continues until then. Refund eligibility, billing errors, failed payments, and additional details are governed by the Subscription, Cancellation & Refund Policy.
6. Personal-use license
We grant each authorized reader a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and non-sublicensable license to access the Service and its content for personal, noncommercial use.
You may not forward, repost, republish, reproduce, resell, sublicense, scrape, systematically archive, publicly display, distribute into another server or group, or use paid content to build a competing publication, dataset, product, or service. You may not use paid content to train, fine-tune, or evaluate a machine-learning or artificial-intelligence system without our prior written permission.
Reasonable personal notes and ordinary quotations permitted by law remain allowed when properly attributed and not used as a substitute for the subscription.
7. Subscriber identifiers and account security
Paid content may include a subscriber email address, subscriber ID, or another access marker to discourage unauthorized redistribution. Our handling of these identifiers is described in the Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for safeguarding access links and account credentials and for promptly notifying us if you suspect unauthorized use. You may not share an account or evade access controls.
8. Financial-information limitations
The Service provides general and impersonal educational information. It does not create an adviser-client, broker-customer, fiduciary, tax, legal, or accounting relationship. Watchlists, scenarios, reference levels, model outputs, and discussions of securities or digital assets are not personalized recommendations. The Financial Disclaimer is incorporated into these Terms.
9. Accuracy, availability, and changes
Market information changes quickly and may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate. We may correct, update, remove, or decline to publish content without notice. We do not guarantee uninterrupted delivery, a particular publication schedule, or the continued availability of any feature.
We may use third-party providers for hosting, forms, email delivery, payment processing, market data, and links. Those providers may have their own terms and privacy practices. We are not responsible for third-party websites or services we do not control.
10. Intellectual property
The Signal Ledger name, design, original text, graphics, compilation, software, and other original materials are owned by or licensed to Pierce Ventures, LLC and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. No rights are granted except the limited personal-use license stated above.
11. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access for nonpayment, fraud, abuse, security risk, unauthorized redistribution, interference with the Service, or a material violation of these Terms. When practical, we will provide notice and an opportunity to address the issue. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
12. Disclaimers of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, noninfringement, and any warranty arising from course of dealing or usage of trade. Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pierce Ventures, LLC and its owners, contributors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages; trading or investment losses; lost profits or data; or damages caused by reliance on content, interruption, delay, or a third-party service.
Our aggregate liability arising from the Service will not exceed the greater of $100 or the amount you paid to us for the Service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. This limitation does not apply where prohibited by law.
14. Governing law
Maryland law governs these Terms, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where another jurisdiction's nonwaivable consumer law applies. Any dispute not eligible for small-claims court will be brought in a state or federal court with jurisdiction in Maryland, and each party consents to that forum. These Terms do not shorten any limitation period established by applicable law.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service changes. We will post the revised version with a new effective date and provide additional notice when a change is material. Changes will not retroactively authorize a charge or materially reduce a paid subscriber's rights during an already-paid period.
